       2 night minimum required for bookings on summer and fall weekends.

The Inn, being 213 years of age, is in a distinctive category, in fact, a historic category.  Keeping with the Inn’s place in the National Register of Historic Places, we have elected not to add televisions to the guest rooms, although TVs are available in the Living Room and Pub.  We have have internal cell phone enhancers to assure that your cell phones have sufficient bars.

The Inn does not have a business center but we do have complimentary Internet service available to all guests.

  • Sanitizing has been stepped up during Covid and will continue to be a top priority for the safety of all guests and staff.
  • Staff regularly sanitize high touch surfaces and hand sanitizers are located throughout are available for guest use during their stay.
  • We recommend and appreciate that dinner and lodging guests continue to wear a mask at this time.
  • True HEPA air purifiers are located in each of our dining rooms.

Dunmore Room

This room offers a cozy queen sleigh bed and a bath with a shower.

Lake Dunmore, only 5 miles south of East Middlebury is home to Branbury State park offers a sandy beach, canoe rentals, and campsites and snack bar.

The room is a spacious back corner room with morning sun. It contains a full bed and a twin size bed. The bath offers a claw foot tub and shower.

Champlain Room

This is a quiet spacious back corner room on the West Side. It contains a queen mission style bed and the bath has a tub with shower.

Lake Champlain and the towns along the shore have a long, fascinating history. This is a place that has seen revolutionary battles, fights for freedom, and abolitionists. It quite literally helped shape the creation of the United States.

Long Trail Room

An outdoor feel in our Long Trail Room with snow shoes and deer horns adorning the walls. The bath offers a shower.

Vermont’s Long Trail follows the main ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts-Vermont line to the Canadian border.

The room is at the mid point of the Inn on the West side and overlooks the lawn and gardens. The guestroom has a queen sleigh bed and large bath with a claw foot tub and shower.

Room 9

Robert Frost Suite

Robert Frost was a frequent guest of the Inn while writing and working in Vermont. His name may have been the inspiration for many of the guests that have stayed in this suite since hundreds of letters have been written and left in a wooden box within the guest room. It is interesting and inspiring to read the broad comments on life and living from past guests. The room offers a sitting area, four poster king bed and a bath with shower and jacuzzi.

Room 10

Green Mountain Room

The Green Mountains are the range of mountains that define Vermont but it was also an early name of the Waybury Inn.

The GM Room is a spacious corner room with plenty of afternoon and evening sun. The guest room has a four poster bed, sitting area and the bath has a tub and shower.

Garden Room

On the front east corner of the Inn is the Garden room, with soothing light green colors and garden prints that make you want to locate your gardening gloves and boots. The guest room has comfortable wing backs for lounging and two twin beds. The bath is spacious and has a claw foot tub and shower.

Room 15

Breadloaf Suite

The third floor suite is situated on the west side of the Inn and offers a birds eye view of the west lawn and gardens. Named after the Breadloaf mountain range that is directly up the hill from the Inn our suite offers a king size bed, comfortable seating area and a bath with claw tub and separate shower.  Prices are for double occupancy and include a full breakfast for two.  Additional guests are $25 per person per night.

The Lodge
