Middlebury College Museum of Art

Sheldon Museum

Vermont Folklife Center

UVM Morgan Horse Farm

Chimney Point State Historic Site

Site of early Native American campsites and French Colonial Settlement. Museum explores this heritage through to present day. Special changing exhibits. Route 125, Addison. 802-759-2412.

DAR John Strong Mansion

Two hundred year old home of Revolutionary patriot and his family. Tours include the Strong family story intertwined with traditions of 18th century life of interest to adults and children. Open Fri.-Sun. Rte. 17, Addison. 802-759-2309.

Larrabee's Point

Important commercial landing prior to the opening of the railroad in Vermont. Original 1823 warehouse was built with stones taken from Fort Ticonderoga. Car ferry and historic cruise operate from this point to New York.

New England Maple Museum

A "King Kong" replica of the century-old Sugar House is the scene for the historical development of maple sugaring. Slide show and demonstrations explain the entire process from sap to syrup. Lake Champlain Maritime Museum

Mount Independence State Historic Site

Revolutionary War fort site named for the Declaration of Independence. Remains of block houses, gun batteries, hospital, and star fort. Over 6 miles of trails. This is a sister fort to Fort Ticonderoga. New Visitors' Center and museum. Orwell. 802-948-2000.

Norman Rockwell Museum

Rokeby Museum

Shelburne Farms

Shelburne Museum

Wilson Castle

Built in the 1850's this 32 room European style castle sits on 115 acres is filled with wonderful museum quality antiques, stained glass, oriental rugs, hard wood paneling, and European fixtures. Late May-Mid October 9:00-6:00. Proctor. 802-773-3284.
